KRISTINA DAM Serif Relief Large - Off White

The Serif Relief from Kristina Dam is an interplay between form and material structure created for the wall. The Serif Relief is made by hand and produced from recycled Katran cotton pulp. Cotton pulp is a 100% bio-degradable material made from upcycled cotton fabric waste, and minor differences in shape and colour may occur, making each Relief unique. Cotton pulp is made from waste generated by garment manufacturers. The leftover garments are cut, cleaned and soaked in water to soften the fibers and then ground into a slurry, breaking down the fibers and creating pulp. The pulp is diluted with water and poured onto a fine mesh screen or mold. The water drains away, leaving a mat of fibers which will afterwards transformed into our artwork.
